What do you want from a blog post?
Yesterday marked the last full moon (called the Frost Moon) of winter, and while the effects of the full moon are felt for a few days, I certainly feel like spring is on the way. I’ve seen the signs for a few months already, with snowdrops appearing in January, and crocuses and daffodils peering up in early February. Nature all around us is waking up, and so too are we.
I had a tough autumn and winter with regards to my mental health, and it made me realise how much I want to do, how much I miss certain aspects of life that are currently closed or locked-down. No one can live your life for you – it’s up to you. Some days may be an inner battle to rise up and take a step, while other days it’s a breeze. After spending about 3-4 months in a battle with my mind, I’m all too grateful for the current days where I don’t wake up in a panic, where my weight is a problem (I lost a stone in weight, but I’ve gained it back again and more besides – thank god!), and where my neck muscles are so tight I feel I can’t swallow properly.
All that’s passed me by now. I’m on the road to recovery. Have been for a good month or two, each day feeling better and brighter, and now all I want is my life to change for the better. For spring to arrive, bright and colourful, airing out the dust of winter.
One of the things I’d like to address is my blog. I still want to write book reviews, and put up book recommendations, but I’m wondering what’s next. What other posts are there to write?
I currently write about the things that help me, that aid my mental health. But I’d love your opinion and so I’ve included a little survey with this post. To see what things you like to read about. It’ll direct my posts a bit better, and will be what you want to read.
As spring is coming, maybe you’re feeling like you want to overhaul things as well? I’ve created a downloadable print-out for you to write down goals for the spring months, and any explorations that are of note – appreciate these may be small as we’re currently still in lockdown…
I’ll have them for Summer, Autumn, and Winter too, but we’ll stick with Spring first, considering March is in but a few days!

I hope, like me, you’re taking note of the changes of the seasons, enjoying walking in the slightly warmer weather (caveat here, as I appreciate some places may still have snow), and overall planning for the later seasons of the year. I’d like to put out there, that there’s a light at the end of the tunnel for the COVID-19 virus, with vaccines being rolled out across nations. I feel like in the next few months things will be a bit better, we’ll be able to see friends face-to-face again, and things will open up. Here in the UK it’s going to be a slow process, and I’ve still been encountering my more fed-up emotions on a day-to-day basis, but I know it’ll get better. It’s merely going to take time.
Just like the buds that are appearing on the trees, or the flowers that are beginning to bloom, we all need to take it one step at a time. Enjoy the moments in between as much as we can, with the knowledge that there are brighter days on the horizon.
Happy Spring everyone!
