Camp NaNoWriMo April 2021

There’s so much I want to write, and I love writing. I do it for work as well, so my life really is all about writing. I never realised that before, but I guess it’s always worked out that way.

Writing is a way for us all to make ourselves heard in a world ever increasingly filled with noise. Sometimes you hear someone speak, and sometimes those words become a cry of emotion, unwilling to be lost to the void.

So here’s me, crying out to the void with my words, hoping to be heard.

As an answer for this post, I’m taking on Camp NaNoWriMo next month. I’ve had a book on the go for several years, and I’m planning on finishing what I hope will be the final draft by the end of the month.

I also decided to create a bunch of prompts for myself. As I’m actually editing the book I’m not sure I’ll be using all the prompts in the book… So where I can’t use the prompt in the novel, I’ve decided to write a poem for them. I’ll post the poems each day on my Kandid Chronicles Instagram and here on the blog. I’ll still do a weekly poem for Wednesday, as usual, but I’m keen to get more poetry out there and I generally feel it doesn’t take long to get my words on the page.

If you’re interested, I have a print-out here of some prompts for Camp NaNoWriMo. It may be of use if, like me, you’re taking part.

I’ll be sharing my editing progress on my personal instagram rather than the Kandid Chronicles instagram. But if you want to read my poetry, head over to the Kandid Chronicles instagram or my podcast (on Spotify, named Kandid Chronicles).

But most of all, I hope you join me in the writing journey.
