I’m sitting here on the last day of August, with a cup of Chai Tea (with a spoonful of sugar) waiting to be drunk, and listening to The Greatest Showman music, reminiscing on times gone by. It’s strange that tomorrow will be September, and I’m already planning on doing an autumnal sort out at the weekend – or definitely over the coming weeks. I’m even wearing one of my autumnal dresses – mid-sleeve length, and quite thin, so it’s more an early autumn outfit than the thick sweaters and jumpers waiting in the wings for the coming colder weather.
I’ve even had a pumpkin spice latte this morning. Not from Starbucks, as it’s a bit of a trek to get over to the nearest one from where I live – at least 30 minutes away, and to be honest, unless I’m nearby, I don’t feel it’s worth the travel just for a pumpkin spice latte, however good they are. No. I ended up buying a bottle of the syrup to make coffee at home. Maybe it isn’t quite the same, but it still tastes great. That hint of spice mixing with the dark tang of coffee. We have a great coffee machine that grinds up coffee beans, and honestly, it makes the best coffee in my opinion. So yes, I’m feeling the autumnal vibes for sure.
I should have posted over the weekend for you all, but I was busy over the bank holiday visiting friends in Surrey. I had a great time seeing them in person, able to hug them, and exploring new places (which, considering I grew up on the edge of Berkshire and Surrey, is quite a feat, as I’ve been to a fair few places!). So there were no posts over the weekend. Life got a little in the way, and I think that’s ok.
But I’m back now, and today’s post is all about September’s Bullet Journal pages.
Now. I have to say, this is not one of my own designs. I usually create my own designs or get inspiration and put my own slant on it, but honestly, I loved this design that was done by Amanda Rach Lee so much, I had to recreate it. So I’ll be talking about her and her amazing bullet journal designs a lot in this post.
If you don’t know Amanda Rach Lee, she is a bullet journaller, stationery designer, artist, and even dabbles in music. I follow her on YouTube and Instagram, but she also publishes work on Tiktok and Twitch.
I followed her September Bullet Journal design from two years ago, which is here. Anyway, I just loved it, because I adore stationery, and it felt like a really great design for the time of year (as I think Amanda mentions in her video).
Main Theme Page
As you can see, there’s a lot of stationery on the page! Like Amanda, I also added some washi tape to mix in with the great primary colour scheme. I did not have the washi tapes Amanda included, of course, but I did have some great ones to include, including a sort of geometric 1930s style gold washi tape. I honestly can’t remember where I got it though! Probably Hobbycraft if I think about it, which is a great place if you’re into arts and crafts – plus stationery of course.
As the quote says… ‘You can never have too much stationery’. I completely agree with that statement, and my friends laugh at how much I have. I honestly don’t think they realise how much I have though… they’ve only seen a small amount of it!
I love stationery so much, I signed up to Papergang’s Stationery Subscription Box. If you’d like to see the unboxing of the first box, it’s up on my YouTube channel here. I’ll be unboxing it each and every month I get it!
Like Amanda, I’ve gone with boxes for Instagram and Goals. I have no idea what to include in the Instagram box actually, although I am most likely going to do a Giveaway on my Shelf Yarns Instagram once I reach 500 followers! So far I’m at 486, so I’m thinking by the end of September I should have 500! I’m honestly so happy. I love posting, and it’s a lovely bookstagram community. Everyone is so lovely, and even better – they love books!
My goals are the following for September
- Autumn Sort-Out – including sorting out my finances a bit better
- Embroidery Project (which is here)
- Read 5 books!
We’re already into Tuesday, and even then, it’s the end of the day. So tomorrow is Hump Day, and soon we’ll be halfway through the week and into a new month. It’s amazing how time flies, isn’t it?
I feel like the quote ‘I washi tape my life together’ is so true. I mean, I hope I stick colourful bits of tape everywhere. It certainly makes things brighter, doesn’t it?
I hope I’ll be a bit better at posting on this blog over the coming week! You can watch out for some great posts, including my book recommendations for September, and my book review of ‘Circe’ by Madeline Miller, which I should finish by the end of the week. I just didn’t have the time to read it over the weekend unfortunately.
I hope you all have a great September, whatever your plans are. And I implore you, celebrate the turning of the seasons, whether you’re in the northern or southern hemisphere. As Summer turns into Autumn, or Winter turns to Spring, there’s always something to be inspired by.
